- Agree the group capital structure with the CFO, Exco and the Board. This covers dividend policy, share buybacks and supply chain finance.
- Build a strategy to manage financial risks, including interest rate, foreign exchange, counterparty and pricing risk.
- Review the group treasury policy every year, present changes to the Board, and make sure controls and systems stay aligned.
- Lead a team of four senior specialists or specialists, and manage treasury reporting across the Group.
- Advise on funding for mergers, acquisitions and projects, and manage treasury risk for M-Pesa.
What you need
- A CA (SA) and/or a Master’s degree with an additional qualification in Corporate Treasury.
- At least 15 years of experience in a treasury environment or corporate treasury role.
- At least 10 of those 15 years in a senior management role.
- Experience managing treasury, backed by auditing (financial services sector) or internal audit experience.
- Knowledge of company law, including legal agreements, loans, bank facilities and share purchase agreements.
- Knowledge of the financial regulatory environment and exchange control.
- Ability to interpret accounting policies and financial statements.
