Junior Merchandiser Intern

About this role

Managed People Solutions is hiring a Junior Merchandiser Intern for its store team at the Waterfront in Cape Town. This is a structured internship for someone who wants hands-on experience in liquor and retail, working with well-known brands on the shop floor.

What you’ll do

• Check which stock needs to be merchandised and make sure the right products are on the shelves.
• Check product quality, stock rotation and pricing.
• Set up products the way the company’s merchandising standards require.
• Track out-of-stock items and report them to management and the Regional Sales Manager (RSM).
• Pass on customer issues and requests.
• Keep accurate merchandising records.
• Stay up to date on product knowledge and current promotions.
• Visit stores on the call cycle.

What you need

• An N6 Certificate in Marketing Management or Business Management.
• You must be under 28 years old.
• You must be currently unemployed.
• You must not have done a similar internship before.
• Attention to detail and a reliable, energetic attitude.
• Comfort working in a fast-paced retail setting, including a 9-hour day (lunch included).
