Junior Merchandiser Intern

About this role

Managed People Solutions is looking for a Junior Merchandiser intern to work in its retail team in Khayelitsha, Western Cape. The internship gives you hands-on experience in the liquor and retail industry, with well-known brands sold in-store.

What you’ll do

• Work out which stock needs to be merchandised and make sure the right products are on the shop floor.
• Check product quality, stock rotation and pricing.
• Set up product displays that follow the company’s merchandising standards.
• Watch for out-of-stock items and report them to management and the Regional Sales Manager (RSM).
• Carry customer issues and requests back to the team, and keep accurate merchandising records.
• Stay up to date on product knowledge and current promotions, and complete store visits on the call cycle.

What you need

• N6 Certificate in Marketing Management, or N6 Certificate in Business Management.
• You must be under 28 years old.
• You must be currently unemployed.
• You must not have done a similar internship before.
• Strong attention to detail and a reliable, energetic attitude suited to a fast-paced store environment.
