Lecturer in Criminology and Criminal Justice

About this role

IIE Rosebank College, part of the ADvTECH Group, is looking for a part-time lecturer in Criminology and Criminal Justice. The campus is in Pretoria, Gauteng. The role focuses on teaching students, supporting them, and contributing to the academic work of the department.

What you’ll do

• Teach course content in the classroom, either online or on campus, depending on what the programme needs.
• Set up consultation times so students can get help with their work.
• Analyse module results and identify patterns that need attention.
• Mark assessments and give students clear, useful feedback.
• Step in with support plans for students who are at risk of not passing.

What you need

• Required: An Honours or Postgraduate Diploma (NQF level 8) in Criminology.
• Advantageous: A Masters qualification (NQF level 9) in Criminology.
• A solid understanding of the South African Further Education and Higher Education environment and its rules.
• Knowledge of teaching and learning theory and classroom interventions.
• Experience with assessment methods and processes.
• Ability to provide holistic lecturer and student support.
• Comfort working with digital academic platforms.
• Good time management, attention to detail and clear communication.
• Ability to work well in a team, handle deadlines and adapt when things change.
