About this role
Advtech, the private education provider, is looking for a Grade 00 teacher in Centurion, Gauteng. The role is for a pre-primary teacher who will prepare young children for formal schooling and support their growth in every area.
What you’ll do
- Plan and deliver lessons that build on each child’s talents and get them ready for Grade 1.
- Teach in a way that keeps students motivated, inspired and challenged.
- Assess children’s progress and write clear reports for parents.
- Manage classroom behaviour in a calm, fair and consistent way.
- Represent the school brand in a positive way, both on and off site.
- Keep up with admin tasks and follow all health and safety rules.
- Build good working relationships with colleagues, parents, guardians and the wider community.
What you need
- A degree (NQF level 7) in Early Childhood Development (ECD) or a B.Ed in ECD or Foundation Phase.
- A PGCE, which is required if your degree is judged unsuitable, for example a degree in Psychology.
- SACE registration.
- A valid police clearance certificate.
- 2 to 5 years of teaching experience.
- Computer and digital literacy.
- First Aid qualification.
- Strong planning, organisation and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Good time management and the ability to think critically and solve problems.
