Sales and Customer Associate

About this role

homechoice is a South African homeware retailer with a store at Jumbo Mall in Emalahleni, Mpumalanga. This is a frontline sales job. You will help shoppers in the showroom, process their orders and keep the sales floor in good shape.

What you’ll do

• Approach customers on the showroom floor, find out what they need and turn visits into sales.
• Show products clearly, explaining features, prices and current promotions from the catalogue.
• Work towards your own sales targets, conversion rates and daily productivity goals.
• Handle the full sale, from choosing products to payment and after-sales steps. Pass complex problems to your supervisor or the showroom manager.
• Capture orders, payments, refunds and credits accurately and on time, following cash handling rules.
• Help with basic stock work, such as receiving, moving stock and restocking the floor, and report any stock problems.
• Keep the showroom neat, well presented and in line with store standards.

What you need

• Grade 12 / matric (minimum requirement).
• At least 1 year of retail sales experience.
• Sales experience in a customer-facing, target-driven environment.
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends and public holidays.
• Clear credit record and a clear criminal record.
• Homewares retail experience (advantageous).
