Sales & Customer Associate

About this role

homechoice, a homeware retailer with more than 40 years in South Africa, is looking for a Sales Associate for its King William’s Town showroom. The job is on the shop floor. You will turn customer visits into sales and keep the showroom running well, working under the Store Supervisor and Showroom Manager.

What you’ll do

• Talk to customers on the showroom floor, find out what they need and show them suitable products.
• Explain product features, prices and current promotions clearly, using the latest catalogue.
• Work towards your personal sales targets, conversion rates and daily productivity goals.
• Take customers through ordering, payment and after-sales steps, and handle orders, refunds and credits accurately.
• Help with basic stock work, such as receiving stock, moving it and restocking the floor. Report any stock problems.
• Keep the showroom tidy and well presented, and follow company policies and cash handling rules.
• Pass basic customer queries on to your supervisor when they are too complex for you to solve.

What you need

• Grade 12 (matric).
• At least 1 year of retail sales experience.
• Experience selling face to face in a sales-target environment.
• Availability to work shifts, weekends and public holidays.
• Clear credit record and a clear criminal record.
• Homeware retail experience (advantageous).
