Serviceman Helper

About this role

Impala Platinum (Implats) is recruiting a Serviceman Helper for its business unit in Rustenburg. You will work under the direct supervision of a Serviceman, helping to install and maintain machinery and equipment on site.

What you’ll do

• Check that PPE, specialised tools and equipment are available and in working order.
• Help with routine maintenance on specified equipment and installations, under direct supervision.
• Keep installation sites clean and well kept.
• Spot hazards, report them, and step away from unsafe work until they are fixed.
• Carry out regular inspections of your work area and recommend corrective action where needed.
• Support initiatives that reduce waste, improve productivity and cut costs, and take part in change projects.

What you need

• Grade 12 certificate (NQF Level 4). This is essential.
• 3 years’ experience in a related field.
• A good understanding of mine safety rules, standards and procedures.
• Good working relationships with colleagues and other stakeholders.
