Solutions Specialist: Google Cloud Platform and Advertising

About this role

FirstRand, through FNB, is looking for a Solutions Specialist to join its Technology, Data and AI team in Cape Town. The role supports the AI strategy of FirstAdvertising, the group’s advertising arm, by building AI tools that help improve campaign results.

What you’ll do

• Spot business opportunities where AI can add value to digital advertising, and help take them forward.
• Work with business, data, technology and marketing teams to turn business needs into AI use cases, solution designs and delivery plans.
• Design, build and roll out scalable AI and machine learning solutions that fit the wider AI roadmap.
• Build secure, reliable solutions on Google Cloud Platform, from proof of concept through to deployment.
• Apply architecture standards, technical guidelines and AI best practices when shaping solution designs.
• Monitor how AI solutions perform against business and technical goals, and report on the value they deliver.
• Explain technical ideas and progress clearly to both technical and non-technical colleagues.
• Share knowledge and keep learning to help build a culture of innovation within the team.

What you need

• A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Technology, Data Science, Information Systems or a related field.
• At least 3 years of relevant data analytics or technology experience in digital advertising, ad-tech or marketing.
• Experience designing, building, deploying and supporting AI and machine learning solutions. Experience on Google Cloud Platform is preferred.
• Working knowledge of GCP, including Vertex AI, BigQuery and related cloud services.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL for data analysis, model development and automation.
• Experience turning business requirements into scalable technology solutions.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
• Google Cloud certification is required for this role.
• Advantageous: exposure to digital marketing, ad-tech, customer analytics, Generative AI, Large Language Models or AI-powered products.
