Storekeeper

About this role

Empact Group is looking for a Storekeeper to join its team in Bellville, Western Cape. You will look after stock levels, deal with suppliers and work closely with staff across the catering and project side of the business.

What you’ll do

• Place orders with suppliers once the Project or Catering Manager has approved them.
• Check that prices and quantities match the order sheet and invoice.
• Receive deliveries, check goods are in order and inspect quality and labelling, including data sheets.
• Issue stock and groceries to other departments, and weigh food products for staff in production.
• Manage stock levels against the budget, keeping to set minimum and maximum amounts, and help with weekly and monthly stock takes.
• Supervise the storeroom, fridge and freezer, keep them locked and clean, and apply strict controls. Pack away stock after each mealtime service and run quality checks on food.
• Complete health, safety and environment (HSE) records accurately and on time. Weekend work is required from time to time.

What you need

• Matric (Grade 12).
• At least 2 years of experience in a logistics environment.
• Computer literacy.
• Strong skills with numbers and calculations.
• Good planning, organisation and time management skills.
• Good communication skills.
• Ability to work on your own and under pressure, and to delegate tasks.
• Advantageous: experience in a hospitality environment. Training is provided if you do not have this.
• Advantageous: supervisory experience.
• Advantageous: work smart experience.
