About this role

Empact Group is looking for a waitron based in Bellville, Western Cape. You will serve food and drinks to guests at venues and catering events.

What you’ll do

• Help set up and pack away the banquet area before and after events.
• Take and pass on food and drink orders quickly and correctly.
• Pass on order details, allergies and special requests to the right person.
• Keep your section clean and follow good hygiene habits at all times.
• Check plates, glasses and cutlery for cleanliness and presentation, and report any problems.
• Clear dirty plates, glasses and silverware to the kitchen for washing.
• Look after guests well by anticipating their needs and handling concerns calmly.

What you need

• Matric (Grade 12).
• At least 3 years of experience as a banqueting waiter in a catering environment.
• Strong knowledge of beverages.
• Knowledge of food safety standards and health department regulations.
• Experience in a hotel environment (advantageous).
• Good time management and the ability to set priorities.
• Clear written and spoken communication.
• Strong attention to detail and a focus on quality.
• Ability to follow verbal instructions in a fast-paced setting.
• Good organisation and the ability to handle several tasks at once.
• A professional appearance and polished presentation.
